So many gardens – so little time left to share them! Rebecca and I saw a lot of gardens this summer, both together and with our families. Here’s a peek at some of the highlights…
Greenwood Gardens, Short Hills, NJ
Garden of Betsey Ely, open in Salt Point, NY as part of a Garden Conservancy Open Day in Dutchess County.
The Vegetable Garden at Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello, Charlottesville, VA.
Greenhouse at George Washington’s Mount Vernon, Mount Vernon, VA
Untermyer Gardens, Yonkers, NY
Heather Garden at Historic Gardens, Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia
Mediterranean Garden at San Francisco Botanical Garden, San Francisco, CA
The Mount, home of Edith Wharton, Lenox, MA
Naumkeag, Mabel Choate residence, Stockbridge, MA

Open recently as part of the Garden Conservancy Open Days program, I had a fun experience volunteering to greet garden visitors at the garden of Jack Potter and David Glebe in Ghent, NY.. It was a pleasure to meet Jack and David, who had a steady group of visitors throughout the day. Their garden is so full of color, it was perfect timing for an Open Days visit. The area around Hawthorne Valley is beautiful and I highly recommend going to Open Days gardens in Columbia County! Also visit David and Jack’s garden blog: http://
