Event Photos: Trade Secrets 2012

For years the garden event that sat tippy top on my Got-To-Go list was Trade Secrets. Held the weekend after Mother’s Day at Elaine LaRoche’s Lion Rock Farm in Sharon, CT, Trade Secrets is a fundraiser for Women’s Support Services (WSS) and the Northeast’s premier garden antique and rare plant sale.

In 2012 I finally made it! Trade Secrets was a great afternoon and well worth the trip. There were so many splurge-worthy plants and garden items – I continue to fantasize about the things I saw one year later…

This year Trade Secrets will be held on Saturday, May 18th followed by the Trade Secrets garden tour on Sunday, May 19th. The tour features the garden of well-known designer, Bunny Williams, who founded the event 13 years ago.

Adam from Broken Arrow Nursery with Kalmia angustifolia (Sheep Laurel).

The photo doesn’t do justice to this stag’s head urn. It was unbelievable.

There was something especially pleasant about shopping in the Pool House.

Since 2010 HV Garden Calendar has listed Midsummer Farm’s plant sales and workshops. At Trade Secrets we finally got to meet Barbara in person!

Guy Wolff was there, selling his beautiful pots and strumming the banjo.

Online ticket sales for this year’s dates have ended, but tickets are available for both the sale and tour on the day of event. For more information visit the Trade Secrets website or call (860)364-1080.

Happy garden shopping!
