What’s more fun than the chance to peek over the garden gate into a neighbor’s garden? (Thank you Garden Conservancy!) It’s getting a look at what a local nursery owner has growing on at home.
Loraine Lewis, of Lorjon Nursery in Pine Bush, let me wander their own garden back in June 2011 and here are the long-overdue photos. Who says garden pros don’t have time to garden?
The biggest, happiest Daphne ‘Carol Mackie’ I’ve ever seen! (On right, behind boxwood.)
Sculpture by the Lewis’s son, Christopher. See more of his work here.
Newly installed, back in June 2011, meadow bed. Can’t wait to see how it looks now!
Many thanks to Loraine and Jack Lewis for letting me wander and photograph their garden. If you would like to share your garden with HVGA readers, let us know. We would love to come see what’s over your garden gate! Email laura@hvga.org.

I found this nursery last year through a friend and was amazed at both the beauty and the vast array of materials. A place I am certainly looking forward to coming back to this gardening season. May can’t get here soon enough!
Nice photo tour!
I have spent many happy gardening season’s wandering through Jack and Lorraine’s nursery and have also peeked over their garden gate. You will be truly amazed at the variety and health of their perennials and shrubs . Over the years their plants have graced many a garden that I have installed for other people. I treasure the ones I have brought home to my own small garden. Check this place out, you will never be disappointed.
