HVGA Event Photos: Primer On Orchid Culture

The very first of what Hudson Valley Garden Association hopes is many, many great garden events took place Sunday, January 20, 2013 in the toasty warm, orchid-filled greenhouses at Black Meadow Flora in Chester, NY.

Our delightful and generous hostess was orchid-grower and owner, Margaret Bridge (Thank you Margaret!). Many attendees brought in their own plants for diagnosis. Most were in need of an easy orchid care fix – repotting. According to Margaret, orchids should be repotted every two years.

Black Meadow Flora is open for retails sales, but keeps irregular winter hours. Call (845)469-5055 to make sure someone will be there before you go. Email mcbridge@blackmeadowflora.com to be added to the mailing list and stay updated on sales and events.
