Winter in the Hudson Valley this year was quick and warm. Some would even say nonexistent. Now we’re having 60-70 degree days in March. What is going on!? Regardless, is was nice to come home from a mid-”winter” Florida trip to a blooming yard and great gardening weather. No complaints here.
Earliest bloomers here include multiple varieties and species of crocus – I’m currently smitten with Crocus biflorus ssp. isauricus ‘Spring Beauty’; numerous hellebores, which have been blooming since Christmas; at least three types of daffodils; iris reticulata ‘Harmony’; and the fabulous, always great-looking sedum ‘Angelina.’
Garden Bloggers Bloom Day is hosted on the 15th of each month by May Dreams Gardens.

Nice to see what is blooming in the Hudson Valley. My mother in law lives in southern Putnam County and we pass through Orange County several times a year. Where I live – in the Southern Tier – crocuses are in full swing and other blooms are starting to come out. It’s been such a strange winter!
Wow that’s quite a diversity. I wil lprobably plant more of these as I have few blooms in Febuary and March.
